The Simonton City Council will meet on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 6:30 pm at Simonton City Hall for their first city council meeting of 2023. The public is encouraged to attend and to participate in sharing their thoughts and concerns via “Public Comments”.

On the agenda, are four pieces of “New Business”, two of which (bolded) are the most interesting. 

• a. Consider and take action to adopt resolution for the adoption of rules and procedures related to City Council deliberations and public comment during City Council Meetings.
• b. Consider and take action to order May 6, 2023 General Election for 3 Council Member At Large positions.
• c. Consider and take action to order special election May 6, 2023 for the
  reauthorization of the local sales and use tax in the City of Simonton at the rate of 1/4% to continue providing revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets.
• d. Consider and take action to accept the resignation of council member James Bialas.
